Frontgate Review 2026: Teak Benches, Fire Tables and a 10-Year Frame Warranty for Your Garden

It's the last warm evening of October. The copper top on the fire pit has caught the low sun, two glasses of white wine sit on the hammered surface, and the teak bench under the trellis has gone that soft silver-gray that only real teak gets. Nobody wants to go inside yet. That's the backyard Frontgate sells: not a patio set, but the reason everyone stays out an hour longer.

Frontgate isn't a bargain shop, so the questions matter. What are you paying for, which pieces suit your garden or patio, what do the warranties actually cover, and how do you pay less? We went through the brand's site, product pages and policies in October 2026 to find out.

The Story: Outdoor Living, Designed In-House

Frontgate's About page says it has spent over 30 years helping customers "create their version of a life well lived." The company says most of its collection is designed by its in-house team, so many pieces carry the line "A Frontgate exclusive" and aren't sold anywhere else. Frontgate is a registered service mark of Cinmar, LLC, and the site links to its parent, QVC Group, alongside sister brands Ballard Designs, Garnet Hill and Grandin Road.

Beyond the website, Frontgate runs retail stores and outlet locations. Its design experts can help in store or from home, and the About page says in-store design plans, from layouts to fabric options, are free of charge.

What Makes It Different: Built for Years Outside

Outdoor furniture lives a hard life: sun, rain, frost, pollen, spilled drinks. Frontgate's pitch is materials chosen to deal with all of it, so you spend weekends using the patio rather than babying it.

  • Kiln-dried teak. Pieces like the Portola Garden Bench and Winhill sofa are hand-built from sustainably harvested teak that has been kiln-dried to guard against warping and cracking, then hand-sanded. Left untreated, it weathers to a silver patina, so you can skip the oiling if you like that look.
  • Powdercoated aluminum. The St. Kitts collection uses sand-cast, high-purity aluminum with a multilayered powdercoat finish, a good match for coastal or rainy gardens where you'd rather not think about rust.
  • Solution-dyed fabrics. Winhill cushions are upholstered in 100% solution-dyed acrylic, and Frontgate's furniture covers use 100% solution-dyed polyester with a water-resistant PVC lining.
  • A long frame warranty. Frontgate's warranty page says all its outdoor aluminum, teak and wicker furniture frames carry a 10-year structural warranty for residential use, plus two years on cushion fabric and finishes.

Teak or aluminum: which suits your garden?

Pick teak if you want furniture that blends into planting and softens over time. Frontgate notes that teak releases natural oils as it weathers, so it suggests a rug under new pieces to protect deck or patio surfaces, and for Weathered Teak it advises waiting at least three rainfalls before placing it on porous stone. Pick aluminum like St. Kitts if you want a crisp, modern line and a powdercoated frame that needs little more than a wipe-down.

The Portola bench: small piece, big mood

The Portola is 59" wide with a 14-1/4" seat height and weighs 44 lbs, so two people can sit comfortably and you can still move it to follow the shade. It arrives assembled, the stainless steel hardware is hidden, and Frontgate lists it for indoor or outdoor use. Buy this if you want one good seat in the garden before committing to a full set.

Fire table or copper firepit top?

The Wicker Fire Table is gas-fueled with push-button ignition and runs at 30,000 BTUs on low and 40,000 BTUs on high. A 20 lb. propane tank (not included) hides in the base, the 13" rim holds plates and glasses, and an included aluminum burner cover turns it into a table. It's CSA approved and needs assembly. The Classic Copper Firepit Top is an add-on for Frontgate's Classic Copper Firepit: a 41" hand-hammered solid copper lid that turns the pit into a table, flips over as a tray and keeps rainwater out of the fire bowl. Buy the fire table if you're starting from scratch; buy the top if you already own the firepit.

The fountain for a quiet corner

The Cirrus Stone Birdbath Fountain is 100% cast stone concrete, made in the USA, and circulates 140 gallons per hour. The pump and a 6' cord come with it. At 132 lbs it's heavy, so pick its spot near an outlet before it arrives. When we checked, it was listed as available for pre-order.

Frontgate FAQ

Is Frontgate outdoor furniture covered by a warranty?

Yes. Frontgate says all its outdoor aluminum, teak and wicker furniture frames carry a 10-year structural warranty for residential use, plus a two-year warranty on cushion fabric and finishes. Normal wear and tear isn't covered, and the furniture must be cared for as the care instructions describe.

How long does delivery take?

In-stock parcel items generally arrive in 3–7 business days. Larger items go by truck and are generally available for delivery 2–3 weeks after shipping; the delivery partner calls to schedule a day and a 4-hour window.

Can I return outdoor furniture?

Most items can be returned within 90 days in their original packaging. Clearance pieces and items with special-order upholstery can't be returned unless defective or damaged in delivery. Call (888) 263.9850 for large or heavy returns.

Will teak stain my patio?

Frontgate notes teak releases natural oils as it weathers and recommends a rug under new teak pieces. For Weathered Teak, it suggests waiting at least three rainfalls before placing pieces on porous stone.

Our Verdict

Frontgate is for people who treat the garden as a room they really live in. You pay more than at a big-box store, but you get mostly exclusive designs, kiln-dried teak and powdercoated aluminum, a 90-day return window and a 10-year frame warranty. Start with a single piece like the Portola bench or the copper firepit top if you're unsure, and time a bigger set for a promotion. Check our Frontgate deals page for the current offer before you order.
